The WISHIN Program is unique because it provides specialist support across two service systems: Homelessness and Family Violence. Most organisations can only focus on one or the other, and consequently, are unable to address issues holistically.
Many women we work with have suffered family violence, which has rendered them homeless or at risk of homelessness. In this program, we ensure their safety and wellbeing through ongoing risk assessment and risk management, as well as address their housing and support needs.
Our staff are trained across Trauma Informed Practice, homelessness, and family violence. They are also trained in cultural awareness for Indigenous women, and for women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds.
