Darebin Services
The Local Government Area of Darebin has two funded programs. The SAAP and Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation Service (PDRS), which is a Mental Health branch funded program.
The PDRS program works with single women with children who have a recognised/diagnosed mental health issue and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. These clients are generally long-term clients and support workers will work with them to secure appropriate accommodation and community supports. Workers’ practice is informed by the principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and as such working towards assisting the women to develop independent community links.
Women’s Information, Support and Housing in the North (WISHIN) is a gender specific, community based Non Government Organisation that provides support to single women, with or without children, in the Northern Metropolitan region of Melbourne , who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
WISHIN is governed by a voluntary Committee of Management composed of women living, working and/or studying in the Northern region. WISHIN operates within normal business hours.
WISHIN operates from one office that is centrally located in Brunswick, Suite 7 of 200 Sydney Rd.
